The replacement buildings in the Salzweg settlement are designed as rows of buildings embedded into the sloping topography, arranged in a zigzag pattern with pairs mirrored to each other. Expanding and narrowing spaces are filled with light and air, connected by a curved network of pathways and open areas. Along the Rautistrasse, low point buildings with hipped roofs are situated on the sides of the 5-story rows. This diverse arrangement of different building volumes along the central axis of Rautistrasse creates an urban yet green appearance, shaping the character of the area.
