The new building is situated in a compact three-storey structure next to the existing gymnasium and continues the structural wing along Hündlerstrasse. The staggering of the building in plan and elevation forms a related volumetry to the existing building and preserves the unmistakable morphology of the complex. The comb-like cubature responds to the small-scale nature of the residential area and, by continuing the wing, defines the existing playground in its function as a central location and public space for the neighborhood. The consistent continuation of the building structure reinforces the existing typology and maintains the spatial structure of the open spaces. New, attractive outdoor spaces will be created, which will blend naturally into the planned network of paths.
