Competition in selective procedure | 2023 | Client: Retirement Center St. Martin | 6th Price
The new two-winged building is positioned in such a way that a large green and noise-protected open space facing the monastery garden is created in the southern section. At the same time, it interlocks with the existing small-scale buildings and open spaces of the complex. Separated from delivery and waste disposal, the main access to the retirement center is via St. Martinsgrund. The restaurant, café and multifunctional rooms are located on the raised first floor. The central atrium, which extends over all floors, serves as a meeting point, waiting and recreation area and as access to the residential groups. The surrounding area picks up on the park-like design with its flowing greenery and curved pathways. Large trees and groups of trees create an atmospheric and continuous layer of space. Walking paths and large green areas, broken up by small green spaces and a recreational area in the west facing the monastery, create a varied park landscape.
